LaoZhu, also known as Qingsheng ZHU, is an art historian, art critic, and artist. His academic path includes doctoral training at Heidelberg, work with the German Archaeological Institute, and long-standing research and teaching at Peking University and SISU. His scholarship develops concepts of art history and image studies that address Chinese visual traditions and move beyond standard Western art-historical frameworks.
